Eric Wilner: upcoming events

Sun Aug 8, 2004 9:30 AM Purisima Creek Hike
(Loma Prieta Sierra Singles: http://lomaprieta.sierraclub.org/lpss)

This 10-mile loop takes us from Skyline almost down to sea level and back (1500 feet elevation gain), with interesting scenery all the way. Much of the route is under trees, and the lunch spot is in a nice shady area by a creek. Depending on the weather and the leader's mood, we may have either a gradual downhill and steep uphill, or the other way around (the steep part lacks shade). It's traditional in winter to have a banana slug race at lunchtime, and may be possible in the summer, too, if the slugs aren't all estivating. Bring lunch and plenty of water. Meet at carpool point #6.

Directions to LPSS carpool point #6 (Page Mill / 280 Park 'N Ride): Exit 280 onto Page Mill Road west (Los Altos Hills) in Palo Alto. The lot is next to the freeway. If looking for overflow parking, beware of the "No Parking" signs along Arastradero. Map: http://tinyurl.com/2tq9rk

Sorry, you've missed this one, and there are no future instances on the schedule yet.
