Sat Jun 19, 2004 8:00 AM Salt Point Hike & Sightseeing
(Loma Prieta Sierra Singles: http://lomaprieta.sierraclub.org/lpss)

Salt Point State Park is on the Northern California coast, up north of the Russian River. It's got lots of nice scenery, cliffs to walk along, woods (and a pygmy forest) to walk through, and wildlife to watch. There are often ospreys around, though I make no promises about actually seeing one. The hike will be around 7 miles, with maybe 1000 feet of elevation gain, and various scenic detours. We'll stop to admire the views many times along the way. This is an all-day excursion, with a dinner stop after the hike. Bring lunch, water, sun protection, extra layers (in case it's that little bit too cool out at the coast), and money for carpool (260 miles round trip!) and dinner. Also consider bringing a camera and/or binoculars. Meet at carpool point #7.

Directions to LPSS carpool point #7 (Edgewood / 280 Park 'N Ride): Exit 280 onto Edgewood Road east in Redwood City. The lot is next to the freeway.

Sorry, you've missed this one, and there are no future instances on the schedule yet.
