Sun Feb 22, 2004 9:00 AM Big Basin Hike
(Loma Prieta Sierra Singles: http://lomaprieta.sierraclub.org/lpss)

This 11-mile loop takes us past some nice scenery down to the Berry Creek Falls, and then back up among the greenery. This time of year, the falls should be going strong. There's quite a bit of elevation gain, but nothing terribly steep. Pace will be moderately fast. Wear good hiking boots/shoes, and bring lunch, trail snacks, plenty of water, and carpool money (50 miles round trip; about $6/car park fee). Expect to return to the carpool point around 5-5:30 PM. Rain cancels. Meet at carpool point #2.
Soggy soggy joy joy. As of 6:30 AM, it's raining in Sunnyvale, the forecast calls for about 0.4" of rain in both Sunnyvale and Santa Cruz, and the weather radar shows rain blowing right through Big Basin. Do we really want to do this?

Directions to LPSS carpool point #2 (Los Gatos Public Parking Lot): Exit 17 onto Saratoga Ave (Highway 9) west in Los Gatos. Go past first light (University), then take the first right into the free public parking lot. Meet near the Saratoga Ave end of the lot.

Sorry, you've missed this one, and there are no future instances on the schedule yet.
