Sun Jul 28, 2002 10:00 AM Butano State Park Hike
(Loma Prieta Sierra Singles: http://lomaprieta.sierraclub.org/lpss)

Come out to the coast, for a hike with some views! Butano State Park is in the hills, right by the coast, about halfway between Half Moon Bay and Santa Cruz. The big loop is about 10 miles, with about 2500 feet of elevation gain spread out over a lot of little ups and downs, and some grand scenery. Most of the route is shaded, though there's one rather long exposed stretch (where the views are), so sun protection is a good idea. Bring lunch, plenty of water, the aforementioned sun protection, and sturdy hiking footwear. Meet at carpool point #6.

Directions to LPSS carpool point #6 (Page Mill / 280 Park 'N Ride): Exit 280 onto Page Mill Road west (Los Altos Hills) in Palo Alto. The lot is next to the freeway. If looking for overflow parking, beware of the "No Parking" signs along Arastradero. Map: http://tinyurl.com/2tq9rk

Sorry, you've missed this one, and there are no future instances on the schedule yet.
