Tom Morse is leading this hike to Pinnacles National Monument. From his writeup: "This 5 mile tour of grand vistas has always been one of my favorites. This hike will definitely get your heart pumping but rewards you with stunning views and an interesting trail." Bring lunch, layered clothing, plenty of water, and perhaps something to sit on. Sturdy hiking footwear is a must. Also bring money for carpool (over 100 miles), park entrance, and optional dinner stop in San Juan Bautista on the way home. Meet at carpool point #3.
Directions to LPSS carpool point #3 (Santa Clara County parking lot): Corner of 1st and Hedding, San Jose. Exit 101 or 880 onto 1st Street south in San Jose. Turn right at Hedding, and right again into the parking lot. Don't be too worried about the "no public parking" signs; they don't seem to apply on weekends.
