We'll have a choice of routes today. If everyone's feeling adventuresome, we'll take the long route; if not, we can do the short one. The shorter route covers about 6 miles, with one medium-sized hill (which we'll cross twice), mostly in the shade of the redwoods. The longer one is about 8 miles, with moderate hills and a variety of environments, from redwoods to scrublands to knee-deep water -- yes, it involves wading across the river, so shorts and amphibious footwear are in order. Either way, we'll break for lunch by the river, and spend a bit of time lounging, before heading back. There will also be an opportunity for swimming (not mandatory). As usual, bring water, lunch, and carpool/park entrance money. Meet at carpool point #2.
Directions to LPSS carpool point #2 (Los Gatos Public Parking Lot): Exit 17 onto Saratoga Ave (Highway 9) west in Los Gatos. Go past first light (University), then take the first right into the free public parking lot. Meet near the Saratoga Ave end of the lot.
