It's officially spring! Early spring is just the time to visit Henry Coe State Park; the hills should be green, and the wildflowers in bloom. This will be about a 10 mile hike, with a few steep spots and probably a few easy creek crossings (no swimming required). The route is somewhat flexible, but will definitely include China Hole. Bring: sturdy footwear, lunch, plenty of water, layers, and sun protection. Meet at carpool point #3.
Directions to LPSS carpool point #3 (Santa Clara County parking lot): Corner of 1st and Hedding, San Jose. Exit 101 or 880 onto 1st Street south in San Jose. Turn right at Hedding, and right again into the parking lot. Don't be too worried about the "no public parking" signs; they don't seem to apply on weekends.
