The hikes we've done in Portola State Park and Pescadero Creek County Park often cross Pescadero Creek. The areas around the crossings are pretty... shall we investigate what's between them?
I plan to start from the boundary of Memorial and Pescadero Creek parks, and just walk upstream to see what's there. Yes, we'll be in the creek most of the way. (Accuweather predicts 80-ish temperatures in the area for Sunday afternoon.)
This is unscouted territory! I'm not expecting to run into any areas that require getting wet beyond knee-deep, but there will certainly be swimming holes along the way for those who are inclined to get soaked.
Bring amphibious hiking attire: sturdy sandals or old sneakers, with good tread, and shorts or swimsuit; lunch; water; a sense of adventure; and, for the paranoid, piranha repellent. Pack light, and don't bring anything that shouldn't get wet!
